Redirect Recycling was founded by Diamond Dumas. An environmental advocate who would scrap metal in order to generate extra income. Over time our founder sought ways to increase recycling and its effectiveness throughout the city of Jacksonville, FL. Through Redirect Recycling we hope to reduce the 30 billion aluminum cans and glass bottles that go to our landfills, and keep businesses going. Our impact on the environment and communities is positive and real. Doing good, pays back.
For nearly 10 years our founder has been a part of Jacksonville. Diamond was an Americorp City Year member in Duval public schools, is an alumni of the University of North Florida, and a volunteer at the Clara White Mission Eartha’s Farm and Market. Our founder is consistently thinking through ways to continue to uplift and support Jacksonville and its communities. The plan for Redirect Recycling is to go beyond businesses and bring recycling that pays to community areas and homes. Our goal is to instill in Jacksonville a love for the land our city is on and respect for the water that flows and creates the St.John’s River through clean ups and partnerships with local organizations.
Redirect Recycling is bringing metal and glass recycling to businesses looking to increase their revenue.
Business owners, who have no way to recycle glass or metal, or if they do it’s with a fee, should contact us to establish a new stream of income. Redirect Recycling provides businesses with recycling bins to sort their metal (e.g. aluminum beverage cans) and glass bottles. They receive 5% cash back on their recycled materials, paid monthly.
Glass bottles are crushed and turned into sand. That sand is used to help restore beaches, marshes, and prepare communities for hurricanes and other storms. Businesses who partner with us on our recycling program can receive sand bags for 20% off.
First, businesses contact Redirect Recycling to establish a partnership.
Redirect Recycling provides recycle bins for your business to sort and store recycling inside and outside.
Redirect picks up your recycling on daily, weekly, or as needed basis during operating hours or as scheduled.
Over the course of a month Redirect records the weight of all recycled metal material and pricing. This pricing is transparently communicated to businesses through a monthly report they receive with their cash back payment.
Together Redirect and partner businesses reduce their environmental foot print, redirect recycling from landfills, and make one another more successful.
Why not plastic? Redirect Recycling has not found a eco-friendly and consistent way to recycle plastic at this time. We are consistently looking into ways to expand the positive impact of recycling for the environment and communities.
